My Story
I'm a full-time performer currently living in Dunfermline, Fife. Much of my work lies around Central Scotland, but I am privileged to play my part in celebrations from weddings to corporate events across the UK. My professional life can be busy at times, but I wouldn't change it for the world!
Music and performance has always been a huge part of my life. Starting as a young child in a range of amateur stage productions and training formally in a range of styles from classical and contemporary to specialist jazz and musical styles (Grade 8 Qualified), my love for entertaining has grown with me into a rich professional career.
My first professional gig as a solo musician was in November 2021, after I had quit my job and decided I needed to pursue music full-time. I took a leap of faith, and fortunately I am able to complete the cliché by saying that it paid off, and I am now honoured to playing at over 200 gigs per year.
My life as a professional musician has been a long and rewarding journey. Starting (very) small with only my guitar in hand, I've been privileged to play at a huge variety of events, weddings, and hospitality venues internationally. From music halls to national theatres, local pubs to bustling nightclubs, and choral arrangements to solo covers: I am fortunate in my ability to draw from a unique range of experience to deliver a well-honed, reliable, and varied performance to my clients.
I also realise that to offer a well-rounded, professional service to audiences, it's not enough to just turn-up and play the gig. I hold myself to the highest standards not just in my performances, but also in my conduct and planning throughout my contact with clients. I know that any event demands proper preparation and reliable communication, so I strive to distinguish myself from others in the industry by giving clients the attention they deserve: from the first call to the final chord.
However, I know that music is first and foremost about one thing: passion. It's about celebrating human emotion and it's what keeps us going throughout the trials and tribulations of life. That's why I keep my passion for performing at the forefront of my services. Whenever I play a gig, I treat it like it's my first and my last performance, and I experience every song like I'm playing it for the first time, just as my audience hears it.
And that's why, no matter how many gigs I play, how many emails are in the inbox, and how many times I'm asked to play Wonderwall (of course!), this will never be 'just a job' for me. Everything good in my life has come out of my love for performing and listening to music. It's how I met my wife, it's how I've always grown as a person, and frankly, it's what I'd be doing anyway had I taken another path. I really care about what music brings to life, and what it can bring to the events that help us to celebrate it.
